Fall Festival- Save the Date! During our year of transitions we have decided to not hold our Summer Festival. However, the daylilies and gardens will still be in bloom and we encourage you to come and visit often all summer! We would like to announce that our Fall Festival will be Saturday, September 28, mark your calendars!
Rehabilitating our Iris Fields: In 2013, our Japanese and Siberian Iris Fields are getting much needed rest and reinvigoration. While this is taking place, Irises will be unavailable for purchase. However, as always you are welcome to come and see these beautiful flowers bloom. Daylilies are still available for purchase at this time. Check our website for more details about the progress of our efforts. As we access our collection, limited Japanese and Siberian Iris will likely be available for sale in the fall.
Transitioning
Our Farm:
Two major changes have happened at the nursery lately. First, after 27
years ,Phil Boucher, co-owner of Tranquil Lake Nursery, has sold his
interest in the nursery to his partner, Warren Leach and his
wife
Debi. Warren and Debi are now the owners and caretakers of
the
nursery. However, Phil has agreed to help out around the nursery during
this year of transition so when you come to visit you may see him. You
will still find the same quality daylilies and plants at Tranquil Lake
Nursery that you have been accustomed to.
Second, we are
in the final stages establishing a Agricultural Preservation
Restriction on twenty acres of nursery land through the Massachusetts
Department of Agricultural Resources. The town of Rehoboth is
supporting this process. The APR will ensure that Tranquil
Lake
will forever be a place of beauty and tranquility, and more importantly
the property is protected from future development. After two years we
are in the final stages of this process and we will let you know when
it is complete! Stay tuned.
Daylily Season: The daylilies in the gardens and fields at Tranquil Lake Nursery are now coming into bloom. The earliest started blooming in mid-May and the heat of the past few days has made bloom in abundance. They will continue to bloom into mid July. There is sure to be something that you will like. If you are looking for something specific in terms of color, height, fragrance, etc., we recommend checking out our website which has our complete catalog broken down into different categories. Everything is looking sensational. We are now open Friday-Sunday from 10am to 5pm, or by appointment. Come and visit to see the nursery in all of its blooming beauty.

Warren and Debi will be recreating their Chinese Scholars Garden in miniature for the Boston Flower & Garden Show from March 13-17, 2013 at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. For more information about the Flower Show click here.
A green evolution, an article about Warren in the Boston Globe from May 1, 2011. "Over 15 years, one couple added garden after garden to the expansive grounds surrounding their Grafton home.
