Sunday Garden Design Walks in May
Tranquil Lake Nursery in Rehoboth, Massachusetts will offer free garden walks focused on garden design on Sunday afternoons in May (May, 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30). Garden walks will start at 1:00 p.m. and last about an hour.
Join Warren Leach, garden designer and landscape horticulturist, for one of these design tours of the gardens at Tranquil Lake Nursery with a focus on garden design and the plants that are making a showing on the day of the tour. There are numerous trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, grasses and even annuals that come into their own throughout May and into the summer, providing gorgeous bloom, color, structure and buds that ignite the borders. Over the past thirty five years, Warren has designed and built all the gardens at Tranquil Lake Nursery. They were designed to offer flowers and foliage that provide interest from early spring through fall. There are also many built garden features such as paths, bogs, benches, purple posts, fences, stone walls and more that captivate visitors as they wander around the grounds. During this garden tour Warren will spotlight favorite plants, horticultural techniques, and design features that he has used to solve problems and create beautiful display. What's in Bloom in the Summer Heat

The gardens at Tranquil Lake Nursery are known for their abundant and colorful blooms and distinctive foliage that carries the interest in the garden from early spring throughout the summer and into the fall. Warren Leach, garden designer and co-owner of Tranquil Lake Nursery will take you on a walking tour of the gardens, during the dog-days of summer to showcase a diverse palette of common and lesser know perennials, grasses, shrubs and trees that stand up to the summer heat with foliage and distinctive flowers that add interesting architecture, structure, texture, form, pattern and freshness to the sunny or shady border. He will also offer design tips to help you make pleasing plant combinations using complementary foliage and texture for the hot summer border.
At Tranquil Lake Nursery, you will also see more than 8 acres of fields of Siberian Iris and Japanese Iris and daylilies blooming in the fields. The nursery is the largest grower of these beautiful perennials in the northeast, with over 2,000 cultivars of daylilies in our fields. The display gardens showcase the iris and daylilies as well as a diverse selection of perennials, herbs, vines, shrubs, small trees, grasses and tender perennials. All walks are free and open to the public. The May walks and will be held on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. The August tour will be held on Saturday August 14 at 11 a.m.
