About Tranquil Lake Nursery

Background

Tranquil Lake Nursery is the largest grower of daylilies and Siberian and Japanese Iris in the northeastern United States. Visitors are always welcome to stroll through the display gardens and more than 10 acres of growing fields. It's a wonderful opportunity to pick out favorite colors, shapes and sizes from the more than 2,500 cultivars of daylilies and 200 cultivars each of Siberian and Japanese Iris. Tranquil Lake Nursery is one of the seventeen test sites selected by the All American Daylily Selection Council. Daylilies are tested to select those cultivars that will perform best for home gardeners and commercial growers.

Tranquil Lake Nursery is also a Regional Daylily Display Garden for the American Hemerocallis (daylily) Society. The regional display gardens provide opportunities for gardeners to see large numbers of daylily hybrids near their own garden growing under similar climatic conditions. Among our more than 2,500 daylilies are the latest introductions as well as the best of the older cultivars.

Nursery Hours

Come and explore our growing fields, display gardens and perennial sales area. Tranquil Lake Nursery is open daily in august 2010 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m Wednesday through Saturday. (We are closed on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day). Our on-line catalog offers selections from our extensive collection of field-produced daylilies, which is the largest in the Northeast. We also grow a substantial and diverse number of perennials in containers, and these are also available at the nursery. Our nursery gardens display many imaginative perennial combinations that are low-maintenance, drought-tolerant and offer a long-season of bloom. We offer many lectures on weekends in the spring and the fall, and tour groups are always welcome. Call or write for more information, or to make a tour reservation.
